Über Cecilia Vajda

Cecilia Vajda was a pupil of Kodály, a Professor of the Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest, and Director of the Hungarian Radio Choir. She came to the UK at the invitation of Yehudi Menuhin and Kodály’s recommendation to introduce his Concept of Musicianship Training to the musicians, teachers and students of this country.
Prof. Vajda adapted Kodaly`s Principles to the British school system and to its musical heritage, conducted courses for teachers and lectured at numerous Universities and Colleges throughout the UK.
She was Senior Lecturer at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama for many years and during that time produced valuable material for the support of musicians and teachers including “The Kodály Way to Music” Books I & II. Founder of the British Kodály Academy and the Kodály Institute of Britain, she was Britain’s most authoritative and experienced exponent of Kodály’s philosophy of Music Education.
