Paul Terry has spent twenty years teaching music at all levels, from infant to post-graduate. Between 1976 and 1989 he was Director of Music at the City of London Freemen's School, and subsequently laught music technology at Kingston Polytechnic (now Kingston University) before establishing his own music-publishing and typesetting companies.
He has wide experience as a music examiner and as a member of such consultative bodies as the Secondary Examination and Assessment Council He was Senior Awarder in music to the Oxford and Cambridge Schools Examination board, a Chief Examiner for Edexel Foundation London Examinations at Advances Level, and a Setter for the Inter-Board Test of Aural Perception.
He is co-author of "Music in Sequence", the best-selling guide to sequencing, its companion volume "Classics in Sequence" and also "Rehearse, Direct and Play". A specialist in computer-originated music, he has written many articles on music technology and has been involved in a variety of commercial recording work as a producer and conductor.
