Zum Zeitpunkt der Entstehung hatte der große Experimentator und Klangforscher Harry Partch sein spezielles Skalen-System vollständig entwickelt. Durch den Bau eigens dafür konstruierter Instrumente schuf er die Voraussetzung, seine Klang- und Harmonievorstellungen auf die Bühne zu bringen. Mit der Verwendung von 25 dieser Spezialinstrumente bietet Delusion of the Fury die Chance, das musikalische Universum eines der ungewöhnlichsten amerikanischen Komponisten des 20. Jahrhunderts in all seinen Schattierungen und seiner hypnotischen Kraft zu erleben.
